Studies

Environmental artist, curator, designer and educator Stamatina Palmou studied Photography (B.A. Midlessex University, 1997-2000) Art Psychotherapy (M.A. foundation, Hellenic Art Psychotherapy Center, 2003-4), Horticulture (Greek Institute of Agricultural Sciences, 2006), Permaculture design foundation (Art and Ecology Centre, 2009)  Environmental Design (PDC, The Permaculture Research Institute of Australia, 2010). She is currently working on her Diploma thesis and project on environmental design with PRI Hellas.

Activity and professional background

She started exhibiting during her initial studies as early as 1998. Retrospectively, the body of her work functions in the frame of the Social Sculpture and employs various media: installation, performance, photography and design. From 2004 to 2010 she became active in the organization of exhibitions of contemporary art with special focus on environmental issues. She is founding member and director of the Art and Ecology Center (founded 2004) through which has drafted and implemented various projects for the creation of an environmental art scene in Greece. From 2009 to now she is active as a professional in ecosystemic art and education, designing aesthetic agroecological systems and teaching environmental design and management.
